Lawrence Day |
![]()
Oddly enough, Lawrence Day came late to the creation of art objects. He graduated
Stevens Institute of Technology
with an electrical engineering degree and floated from such diverse jobs as cable splicing supervisor to web master. His interest in art was piqued while still at school, when he had the opportunity to review a number of
Leonardo da Vinci
manuscripts.
|
Because of his diverse experiences, he has approached the crafting of objects with an inventive and unorthodox approach, sometimes using traditional methods, but mostly improvising with whatever is available to him at the moment. He produces large works in acrylics, as well as small experimental oil works on acetate and polyester film. He has been active with figure drawing workshops for over twelve years and has shown his work in New York and Paris.
